The 2026 Challenge: Generative AI in Education

The ‘Safe AI Cup’ challenges students to create innovative, functional Generative AI solutions that directly benefit the school community. This includes improving learning outcomes, enhancing teacher efficiency, promoting digital safety, or supporting student wellbeing through responsible AI tools.

Focus: Your project must demonstrate an ethical application of Generative AI principles (such as pattern recognition, natural language processing, image generation, or content creation) to solve a clearly defined problem in education.

Submission Format & Requirements

The Working Model Requirement

The 2026 competition exclusively requires the submission of a Working Model. This means your project must be a functional prototype that can be demonstrated live or via video proof, clearly showing inputs and outputs. Conceptual designs or theoretical plans are not eligible.

Visual Guide (What is Accepted?)

ACCEPTED: Code running on a screen, A robot performing a task, A mobile app functioning live.

NOT ACCEPTED: PowerPoint slides only, PDF designs, Static 3D printed models (non-functional), Posters.

Submission Components

  • Video Demonstration: (Max 3 minutes, 180 seconds). Must follow the official Video Guidelines (available in the Resources section).
  • Technical One-Pager: A brief report detailing the project’s architecture, tools used (e.g., Python, low-code platforms, specific APIs), ethical considerations, and potential scalability.

Teams of 3, 4, or 5 students from the same age category.

Tweens

11 to 14 years old

Focusing on creative problem-solving and basic application of AI principles.

Teens

15 to 18 years old

Focusing on complex technical execution and advanced ethical considerations.
